MOCHA BANANA SHAKE

August 11, 2018 By Mink Leave a Comment

Mocha Banana Shake

Mocha Banana Shake is a perfect breakfast in a glass that literally takes 5 minutes to make and that may include the cleaning time, if you’re a hyper person like me. It has everything you want to start your day or as a pick-me-up drink during the day. It is healthy, yummy, and easy. It has coffee, banana, cocoa power, almond butter, soy (or almond) milk, and agave. Basically, all good stuff. Are you convinced yet?

Mocha Banana Shake

Oh, and the other reason that I love making it is because we just got a new blender. It’s so powerful and it makes me want to blend stuff all day long. Last time when we had people over for a taco night, I made Chipotle Pulled Pork, Guacamole, Roasted Tomato Salsa for taco bar and Caramel Flan for dessert. For adult drinks, our friends brought some tequila and fresh strawberries to make margaritas. That’s when we found out that our blender was an embarrassment. ha ha ha. It was so old and took f-o-r-e-v-e-r. Well, it did it’s job for almost 7 years and if I remember it correctly, it’s only $19.99. It was probably one of the best investment we had and we made good use out of this puppy. But it’s time to put it in retirement and get a new good one.

Now we got a new tool, a new toy! It also came with a little recipe book, so of course, my mission is to try all of them. This Mocha Banana Shake is one of them and definitely a keeper. You can use a regular banana, but I like to use frozen. For milk, I like soy milk but of course, you can use almond or regular milk. Speaking of frozen bananas, I like cutting bananas up and freeze them in the freezer so they’ll be ready for a quick breakfast drink like this Mocha Banana Shake or even making sorbet like this Mango Sorbet. Believe it or not, you don’t need an ice cream maker for this, just blend everything in a blender or food processor. It’s a good way to use up those old brown bananas other than using them for banana bread.

And if you like smoothie, I have others that you might like. Check them out.
