BLUEBERRY FIG BANANA SMOOTHIE

September 19, 2016 By Mink 5 Comments

Blueberry Fig Banana Smoothie

Blueberry Fig Banana Smoothie is a healthy, delicious breakfast in a glass that literally takes 5 minutes to make. I also added some old fashioned oats for more nutrition. By now you’ve probably said “Figs? Why?”. I have some left over from making Prosciutto Wrapped Figs so why not. They have the gorgeous purple skin and they will add some sweetness to the smoothie. Figs are in season in fall and that’s another reason why I love fall. The air is crisp, the leaves start changing color and soon enough it will be Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday. 🙂

If you like smoothies, I have other recipes posted. Here they are.

Let’s make Blueberry Fig Banana Smoothie!

Here are the ingredients. For 1 serving, you will need 1 banana, 1/2 cup of blueberries (fresh or frozen, doesn’t matter), 4 fresh figs, about 2 teaspoons of sweetener such as agave or honey, 3/4 cup of Greek yogurt, 1/2 cup of old fashion oats, and 3-4 ice cubes.

A lot of smoothie recipes will have some sort of liquid such as milk, soy or almond milk in it. You can add a splash of it if you want. I like my smoothie kind of thick so I don’t add any liquid.

Cut a banana into big pieces. Remove the stems from the figs and cut them in half.

Put all the ingredients in the blender.

Blend everything together until smooth.

Taste it, if you like it sweeter, add more honey (or agave) and blend again for a few seconds.

Voila! Your Blueberry Fig Banana Smoothie is ready. Enjoy! 🙂
