PEPPERMINT MOCHA LATTE

December 15, 2018 By Mink Leave a Comment

Pepper Mint Mocha Latte

Hey guys! I proudly present this Peppermint Mocha Latte. I made Pumpkin Spice Latte last week realizing that the rest of the world has moved on to the winter peppermint stuff. So, here we go. Move over Starbucks. JK! I’ll be there again on Monday. ha ha ha

This Peppermint Mocha Latte is super easy. I just used my Keurig to brew 1 k-cup of Pike Place Roast from Starbucks. You can use any coffee that you like. To make the peppermint mocha mix, heat up milk, sweetener (you can use anything, I used agave.), cocoa powder, then add coffee to the pot and finish it with some peppermint extract. Then, before serving, add a big dollop (or two) of whipped cream and top with some crushed candy cane. Easy enough, right? It’s oh so festive and so appropriate for the holiday season.

Let’s cook some food! Actually let’s make some latte!

Start with making the peppermint mocha mix. In a small sauce pan or pot, medium heat, add milk (any kind, soy, almond, skim, regular milk, etc.) I used soy. Add cocoa powder and sweetener (sugar, Splenda, whatever you like), I used agave. Start with a small amount, then you can add more if it’s not sweet enough. My sweet spot says 3 tablespoons of agave is perfect for us.

Whisk and bring it to a simmer.

Brew 8 oz. (1 cup) of good coffee. Add the coffee to the pot.

Add peppermint extract ( or imitation peppermint flavor). Stir to mix everything together.

To bring it to the next level, because why not?, I made homemade whipped cream and put a dollop on top.

Making whipped cream is easy. I used my handheld mixer to whip ½ cup of heavy whipping cream until soft peak. It took no time at all.

We won’t just stop at the whipped cream, let’s make it cute and festive. Crush a peppermint candy cane in a bag. I just used the bottom of a glass.

Pour the hot coffee mix into the cups, top with whipped cream, crushed peppermint candy cane and a stick of candy cane in each cup. They serve two purposes, to stir and it will add more sweetness to the coffee.

That’s it! How cute and easy was that? I really hope you give this Peppermint Mocha Latte a try, the recipe card is below. Also, let me know how it goes, the comment box is below.
