MAPLE FENNEL BACON

March 8, 2016 By Mink 4 Comments

Bacon

Maple Fennel Bacon is by far the yummiest bacon I’ve ever had. I got this recipe from the cooking show “Dinner at Tiffani’s”. Since then, I never cook bacon any other way. The sweetness of maple fennel glaze and the saltiness of bacon are a perfect combination.

Let’s cook some food!

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Mix the maple syrup and brown sugar in a small bowl.

Bacon4

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and set a rack on top. Put the bacon on the rack leaving space between the strips. Brush with the maple syrup mixture.

Bacon3

Sprinkle fennel seeds. Fennel is a strong spice, so use it sparingly.

Bacon1

Sprinkle black pepper on top.

Bacon2

Bake until brown and crisp, 20 to 25 minutes. Loosen the bacon from the rack and let it cool there 5 minutes before serving. I like to serve this Maple Fennel Bacon with Goat Cheese and Red Pepper Frittata. But they are also good with any breakfast dish or any dish that includes bacon.
