2 tablespoons hot sauce (Frank's or your favorite)
½ cup all purpose flour
1 tablespoon regular olive oil
For the hot honey sauce:
1 cup honey
2 tablespoons hot sauce (Frank's or your your favorite)
2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon chili powder
½ teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
Mix all the spices for the chicken together: sweet paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Add some hot sauce. Toss the chicken in the spice mixture.
Sprinkle them with flour and toss until all pieces are lightly coated.
Add olive oil, toss again.
Next, you can either bake them on a sheet pan in the oven at 450°F. Make sure you preheat your oven first. Bake for 7 minutes, flip them and bake another 7 minutes or until golden. Then switch to broiler for a couple of minutes for extra crunch. Or you can fry them in the air fryer like I did.
Preheat your air fryer according to the instructions. I preheated mine for 3 minutes at 375°F.
Spread the chicken out in one layer, making sure they have spaces between them.
Fry for a total of 12 minutes. After 6 minutes, flip them so both sides are golden brown. I did 2 batches for 2 lbs. of chicken tenders.
In the meantime, while waiting for the chicken, make the hot honey sauce. Add all the spices: cayenne pepper, chili powder, garlic powder, honey and hot sauce into a small sauce pan.
Cook the sauce on low heat until it comes to a boil. The sauce will be runny, but it will thicken as it cools down. Turn off the heat.
Drizzle the hot honey on top of the chicken tenders, serve hot. Sprinkle with some herbs like cilantro or green onions. Enjoy!
