Recipe type: Waffles
Cuisine: Belgian/American
Serves: 6 waffles
Ingredients
  • 2 cups Heavenly Waffles mix
  • 2 cups carbonated water (club soda, a.k.a. seltzer, beer or champagne)
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tablespoons canola or olive oil
Instructions
  1. Blend the waffle mix, oil, egg and carbonated water (you can use club soda, a.k.a. seltzer, beer or champagne) in the blender on high for 1 minute.
  2. Heat up your waffle maker to high. Once the waffle maker is ready, spray it with non-stick spray and adjust to desired temperature.
  3. Fill with the batter ¾ full, let it sit in the waffle iron for about 20 seconds before closing, to avoid overspill. The batter will rise due to the carbonated water.
  4. Cook for 4-5 minutes. Enjoy!
Notes
For crispy waffles, blend the ingredients on high for one minute if you use Vitamix. If you use a Ninja blender, you can mix it longer as Ninja's vortex is different. Don't worry about overmixing, because Heavenly Waffles mix is not like other waffle mix, they will still be moist.
Also, leave the waffle make iron open longer than 20 seconds before closing to let the steam out.
Last but not least, I used the non-stick spray from Heavenly Waffles, which has a higher smoke point and should save the life of our waffle maker.
