To make cranberry simple syrup, add sugar, water and fresh cranberries into a saucepan over medium heat. Stir occasionally. By the time the edges start to simmer, the liquid should be completely clear, not cloudy. Remove from the heat when the cranberries are cooked, you can tell when their skin starts cracking.
Separate the cranberries and syrup into different containers. Let it cool and store the syrup and cranberries in the fridge until party time.
To make the cocktail, pour vodka, cranberry simple syrup and ginger beer over ice and top with cranberry juice and a squeeze of fresh lime. Garnish with a sprig of rosemary and 5-6 cranberries.
