Recipe type: Iced Tea
Cuisine: American
Serves: 3 quarts
Ingredients
  • 4 peaches plus 1 for garnish
  • 5 green tea bags
  • simple syrup (1 cup of sugar, 1 cup of water)
  • 3 quarts of water (12 cups)
  • 2-3 blackberries to garnish (optional)
Instructions
  1. Start with simple syrup. Boil sugar and water in a small sauce pan (small pot). Once it comes to a boil, and the sugar completely dissolves, turn off the heat. Set aside.
  2. In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Turn off the heat, add green tea bags into the pot and let them sit for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, discard the tea bags and let it cool.
  3. Peel and cut 4 fresh peaches into big chunks. Blend them in a food processor (or a blender).
  4. Pour peach puree through a strainer. Use a spoon to push it through.
  5. Add simple syrup into the tea, followed by strained peach puree. Stir to combine.
  6. Refrigerate and chill for at least 1 hour. Serve over ice and garnish with additional peach slices and blackberries (optional).
Notes
If you can't find fresh peaches, frozen peaches would be fine, too. Just let them thaw first before puree them.
