Serves: 8 pieces
Ingredients
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 3.5 oz. of milk chocolate
  • ¼ cup sliced almond
  • 1 egg, beaten with a little bit of water
  • raw sugar
  • flour to dust the working surface
Instructions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 400 degree F. Place 1 sheet of thawed puff pastry on the floured work surface. Roll it into about 8 x 8 inch sheet.
  2. Use a knife or a pizza cutter to cut it up into 4 equal squares. Then, cut from each corner into 8 triangles.
  3. Break the chocolate into small chunks.
  4. Place chocolate and sliced almonds on the puff pastry. Brush the edge with the egg wash. Start folding the dough over the chocolate as you tightly roll up the dough, enclosing the chocolate.
  5. Repeat with the remaining puff pastry and chocolate. Place the croissants on a baking sheet lined with Silpat or parchment paper. Brush the top with the egg wash.
  6. Sprinkle with some raw sugar for sweet crunchy top. Bake until they are golden brown on the top, about 12-15 minutes.
Notes
You can use dark chocolate or mix dark and milk together or even chocolate chips.
